How to measure for the Violin

Lift the left arm and extend it fully to the side, parallel to the floor with the palm facing upward. Measure from the neck to the middle of the palm.

It’s better to play on an instrument that is a bit smaller than one that is bigger, especially for beginners. See our chart for the approximate sizing.

    Happy with our purchase

I bought the Antonio Strad Model 3 for my daughter. I think it’s the perfect instrument for beginners. Her teacher loved its sound and durability. We love its bright red finish and overall look. It does not just have great aesthetics but sounded great with the teacher playing it… with my daughter playing it doesn’t sound good yet but we have faith! My daughter loves the lessons and we are hoping she sticks with it.

    New to Violin.

I’ve never played the violin before, but my boyfriend encouraged me to start. I started playing in this dumb pandemic and I am happy I did. I’m not very good yet but I like practicing right before bed. Love everything about the 3 and will surely recommend this instrument to anyone looking to start playing the violin.

    Replacement violin

I bought the model 3 violin to replace my old one that got sat on. I guess I am not yet ready to buy an expensive violin, so this one will do. It is a little bit of an upgrade but not much. My other one was a cheapy from Amazon and this at least is a real violin. It also comes with a way nicer case, and the bow is light years ahead of my other one.

    Come with everything you need.

This violin comes complete with everything I needed to get started. It includes a case, string tube, bow, shoulder rest, a rosin and a bow. This one also comes with a tuner, which helps beginners like me in learning how to tune and keeping it in tune. There is nothing more I could say about how excited I am to own instead of renting. Next I need to buy a book or maybe sign up for classes.

    Cheap hobby

Got into the violin for my newfound hobby. During the shutdown, playing violin has helped me enjoy something new without having to go anywhere. I downloaded an app on my iPhone called Trala to help me learn, too. What’s cool about Trala is that you learn to play one note songs pretty quickly. This violin is not very expensive, but it has outstanding quality for the price. So between Trala and this violin it is a pretty cheap hobby.
