Jase Rylan Brown holds a Master’s degree in music, and has seven years of experience teaching guitar to students of all ages. In addition, he has studied guitar pedagogy at the graduate level.
Mr. Brown earned his Master’s of Music in Guitar Performance from Arizona State University, where he was the graduate teaching assistant for two years. He completed his Bachelor’s of Music in Guitar Performance at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to his studies at UTSA, Mr. Brown attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He was the recipient of a special talent scholarship, and studied with the Guitar Foundation of America competition winner Marc Teicholz.
He has given numerous solo and ensemble recitals throughout Texas and Arizona, and performed in concerts with Grammy Award winning guitarist William Kanengiser and French guitarist/composer Roland Dyens. He has performed in master classes for such artists as Jason Vieaux, Ricardo Cobo, Pavel Steidl, William Kanengiser, Massimo Delle Cese, Berta Rojas, and Judicaël Perroy.
Martha Marquez is a former EPISD and SISD music director. She holds a master’s degree and has taught all levels (elementary through adult education) for 20+ years in the El Paso and San Antonio areas. She truly loves working with children because teaching is her passion. Martha enjoys giving to the community by holding music recitals for senior citizens. She uses both Suzuki and traditional methods when teaching music.
While residing in El Paso, Ms. Marquez studied and performed under Maestro Abraham Chavez (former conductor for the El Paso Symphony). In addition, Martha studied guitar from local classical guitar legend, Charles Teitsworth.
Martha moved to San Antonio over ten years ago. She continued to work in the school districts, but later began teaching music for the United States Air Force. She has used her spare time to play for the Community Bible Church Orchestra, the University of Incarnate Word Community Orchestra, and Salterelli Orchestra. Her most favorite thing to do is listen to birds sing. It is music to her ears!
