Generally speaking, our beginner models are ideal for students that have never before played an instrument. We adjust our beginner models to help achieve a more orchestral sound in an effort to help the child develop faster. One of the benefits of our rental program is that you are allowed to upgrade at any time, so if you’re unsure about your child playing long-term and he/she is under 10 years old, this might be a good option for you.
Of course, the better quality instrument, the easier it is to learn and develop. Often a child becomes unhappy with their instrument, primarily because of its sound quality. If your child has more than a year experience, consider one of our intermediate models, such as our German handmade violins (models 180 and 175).
Regardless of experience, the better the instrument, the better the chances are a student can fully realize their potential. Our advanced student models are essential for someone with more than several years experience, such as a middle or high-school student. Our advanced models are more responsive and have a much bigger sound, warmer tones, and have more dimension in quality. Our rental program allows the parent to continually upgrade, continue earning credit, and minimize out-of-pocket expenses when looking to buy an advanced instrument.
Overall, if budgetary constraints are not an issue, we recommend the best instrument possible for your child. Therefore, regardless of experience and quality, you may also want to consider what is within your comfort zone.
