Inspired by his love of music and the violin, Reinhard Bonsch found his way to Vogtland, where it has been established in Markneukirchen for over 300 years as a center of the art of violin making.
After his journeyman’s examination in 1978 and subsequent employment at Klaus Schlegel, Bonsch graduated from the master test in 1982. Since January 1984, he worked independently in his own workshop in Erlbach and Zwickau where he focused on violin building in addition to repair and restoration. The needs of a performing musician is an important role for Bonsch, he listens to their suggestions, incorporates easier playability, good arrangement and harmonious appearance to all of his instruments.
