Paulus, August of Richard Weichold shop. Labeled Richard Weichold (Paulus)
Dresder 1899. Two piece well flamed maple back and well seleclted spruce top
in Strad pattern, ebony crown in neck button with shaded red varnish on top
of golden ground. Beautiful workmanship in excellent condition. Very clean,
powerful & responsive sound, good for competition.
Paulus, August: Born 1851, worked for Weichold at Dresden from 1893. Violin of superior, very popular throughout Germany.
